At the Portable Media Expo in Ontario, CA, Audible announced its Wordcast solution, which incorporates tools to build advertising-based and subscription-based podcasts.
The company announced details of AudibleWordcast in a statement today as it demonstrated the "audit-ready" software for podcast creation and management. By making it audit-ready, metrics for measuring actual subscribers can be generated and made available to advertisers.
Audible said its web-based Wordcast tools enable podcast creators "to build multiple revenue streams around capabilities such as advertising management, dynamic ad-insertion, underwriting and secured transactions."
The key feature looks to be dynamic ad delivery. Wordcast lets podcasters separate ad and podcast content, and allows for ad rotation and insertion in current and archived content.
Audible has invested money, time, and people in getting the word out about Wordcast at the Expo, beyond running demos over the two days of the conference.
A $35,000 platinum sponsorship paid for by Audible has given the company a prominent place at the Expo to increase its brand awareness. On Saturday, company CEO Don Katz will deliver an afternoon keynote address at the conference.
