Although it may not have had quite the impact of Apple's new product introduction, Samsung has introduced two new products today, one in the mobile phone arena and the other for digital television.

To learn more about Samsung's new phone, read here. As for their new digital TV receiver chip, the company today revealed the S5H1406, which, according to Forbes, "establishes a new standard for terrestrial (VSB) and cable (QAM) digital TV broadcasting performance." The chip allows digital receivers to find and track signals in less-than-ideal environments.

Before hitting the shelves, the chip was field tested and managed to acquire and track the "signals of five domestic terrestrial digital TV broadcasts." Asian customers can expect to find Samsung's new chip in digital TV receivers during the first quarter of 2005.
