Comparing Nokia 5800 Xpress Music with Apple 3G iPhone

By Guest Author

Nokia 5800 has been recently launched in the market with a great thump. It scores well on many accounts. It seems to be better than its nearest rival, Apple 3G iPhone.

Touchscreen phones are becoming increasingly popular with the passage of time. As a result, we hear announcements and launching ceremonies of touchscreen mobile phones from time to time. However, mobile companies are competing with each other to offer excellent mobile phones to its customers. Since touchscreen mobile phones have gained wide acceptance among the masses, the mobile manufacturers are paying keen attention to bring out the latest handsets loaded with great features.

In the wake, Nokia unviled its first touchscreen marvel, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile phone. As always, the competition remains tough between the various mobile manufactures, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile phone has been launched by the company in the hope to compete with Apple 3G iPhone.

Camera in Comparison Perspective

Nokia 5800 Xpress Music offers a 3.2 megapixel camera supported by a Carl Zeiss lens to its photography lovers. It is capable of 3x digital zoom and auto focus. It comes with a dual-LED flash as well. What's more, it also gives you access to a second backward facing camera, which is an additional advantage. However, on the other hand, Apple 3G iPhone offers 2 megapixel camera. Moreover, it does not give you an opportunity to record your favourite video and is not having a flash support. So, no video recording also means that a user cannot enjoy video conferencing as well. Apart from that, iPhone also lacks optical zoom feature.

Comparison in terms of Digital Music

As the name itself suggests, Nokia 5800 Xpress is specially designed to challenge the Apple 3G iPhone. As the largest cellphone manufacturer is known for its excellent mobile phones throughout the world, its first touchscreen phone, Nokia 5800 has been specially aimed at bringing the best music to its all the music lovers. What's more, the company has already planned to launch its new music service, 'Comes With Music' in the coming next year.

The Battery Aspect

One of the most disappointed facts about the Apple 3G iPhone is that it comes with non-replaceable battery. It has been kept like this because to prevent it from getting bulky and weighty, as according to the logic given by the company. However, a user is free to replace the battery of Nokia Xpress Music mobile phone. Nokia 5800 also scores high when it comes to battery backup. Nokia Xpress mobile phone's battery backup is much better as compared to iPhone.

Comparison on SMS and MMS front

Nokia 5800 also enables the users to enjoy SMS and MMS service. However, it is not present in iPhone. So, Nokia 5800 Xpress Music is even better on this front too. Apart from this, Nokia 5800 also takes the lead when it comes to voice commands and dialing feature.

In terms of Pricing

It's not only features but Nokia 5800 also takes lead when it comes to pricing. It's cheaper as compared to the iPhone. If Nokia 5800 is set to be sold at 279 euros ($390), Apple iPhone 8 GB is available for 350 pounds ($619.19) in the UK.

Conclusion

Undoubtedly, Nokia 5800 Xpress Music is having an upper edge on its arch rival, Apple 3G iPhone as of now. However, nothing stays in this world for long. We may soon witness tough competition from other mobile manufacturers.
